A Morning of Movement, Smiles and Wellness with Grin

A Morning of Movement, Smiles and Wellness with Grin

At Dear Community, we believe in the power of real connection, shared knowledge and intentional moments that leave you feeling uplifted and informed. Earlier this month, we partnered with Grin Natural to host a refreshing women’s wellness event in Auckland, filled with movement, nutrition insights, oral health education and calm community connection.

With the sun shining beautifully through the windows, the morning began with women arriving with openness and the desire to care for their minds and bodies.

Movement First: Pilates with Louisa Nelson

We kicked off the morning with a grounding mat Pilates session led by the calming and encouraging Louisa Nelson. Her class offered the perfect balance of challenge and softness, helping everyone feel capable and supported. The energy was peaceful, and it was so special to see a room of women moving together, in sync, and in such a safe space.

And yes – the matching socks worn by everyone added a fun and connected feel to the morning.

Refuelling with Purpose

After class, guests were treated to delicious Arrow smoothie bowls, packed with nourishing ingredients and served in a relaxed setting that encouraged conversation and rest. It was the perfect way to transition into the next part of the event – an expert-led wellness panel focused on oral health and nutrition.

Expert Insights: Oral Health and Everyday Wellness

Our panel discussion, guided by Hannah, featured valuable contributions from Sarah Gurnsey, Caitlin Treacy, and a registered nutritionist. The conversation focused on the connection between oral health and whole body wellness, something many of us had never fully considered before.

A standout takeaway? Floss before you brush. This small tip surprised many and sparked deeper questions around how our daily routines can support long-term health.

We also explored how to gauge portion sizes using hand measurements, why seasonal changes are not the main reason we get sick, and why comfort food and regular movement outdoors should be embraced, not avoided, especially in winter.

A Thoughtful Takeaway

To close the event, guests were gifted beautifully curated wellness goodie bags featuring:

  • Grin toothpaste, floss picks and a toothbrush

  • Next Level Hydration electrolytes

  • A bottle of Anew water

  • Soft pink and white Tootsies socks

  • Sugar Baby face cloths

  • A derma roller for gentle skincare

Each item aligned with what we had explored throughout the morning – practical ways to support wellbeing and self-care in daily life.

Why This Morning Felt Special

For many of the women in the room, this was their second Dear Community event, and the feedback was heartfelt – words like calming, inclusive, informative and connected came up again and again.

This is what we strive for at Dear Community: real life gatherings where women feel supported, heard and inspired. With the help of incredible partners like Grin, we create spaces where knowledge is shared freely, and everyone leaves feeling better than when they arrived.
