About
We live in a era that is supposed to be the most 'connected,' than ever before, yet behind the screens of many, sit lonely people longing to simply belong.
Dear Community is a non profit organisation that has been designed to bring women together through monthly events.
We host a range of wholesome events such as brunch, coffee meetups, walks, picnics, board games, pottery, painting classes and so much more.
Life was never designed to be overcome alone. Come as you are. You don't need to change yourself for these groups. Come with an open heart that is willing to let other people in.
What women have said
"Dear Community is so amazing! Everyone is so welcoming and friendly and here for the same reason (to make new friends). The events are really well planned, and super organised. The leaders are also so welcoming and encouraging. Its a really excellent idea - finding friends after finishing uni in a new city would be a lot more challenging. I love it!"
What people have said
"I love how dear community has created a safe space for all women no matter where you’ve come from or the challenges you’ve been through. You guys offer such a warm and welcoming environment no matter how socially anxious or isolated someone has been (it’s me 😅)."
What people have said
"I love that there is no pressure. You can be who you are, come to events that you want to and leave feeling good about yourself. You’ll find that events you enjoy, similar people also enjoy and that’s how friendships form. A great way to not feel so alone."

Hannah Koumakis
Hey, I'm Hannah, founder of Dear Community
I am a born and raised Kiwi. I currently live in Auckland. I run this beautiful community as well as a few other businesses.
I am a big family person, and love being with my friends. I'm constantly on the go, always busy but I love the hustle life.
My heart lies with people, looking out for others and ensuring people feel welcomed. The reason why I started Dear Community was to ensure that everyone felt like they had a place here.
Hopefully I'll be able to meet you soon!
Niamh Vercoe
Hi,
I’m Niamh a recent graduate from Waikato University with a degree in Public Relations and Marketing. After having lived overseas for the past few months, I am beyond excited to be back in the beautiful Bay of Plenty, and even more excited to be interning at Dear Community.
When I’m not going for walks, unsuccessfully attempting to stand up on a surf board or meeting up with friends, you’ll find me reading or hanging out with my husband.
Having lived overseas I know how difficult it can be to meet new people, so I can’t wait to use my events and marketing background to assist in creating special moments for women across NZ to meet. Im so excited to meet some of you, and I hope we cross paths soon!
Ketsia Jordan
Hello,
I’m Ketsia a travel and matcha lover from the dreamy Bay of Plenty.
After the classic gap year in London I studied a BA in Marketing and Event Management at AUT. Over the last couple of years I’ve leaned into the marketing space and worked as a Marketing Executive where I learnt a lot about the corporate world.
I’m very excited for this next chapter with Dear Community as I start my Freelance journey. With a combination of my business knowledge and love for aesthetic content creation I hope to bring DC digital marketing to the next level with Hannah.
I love what Dear Community stands for, as I believe life is so much better with a good group of girls to do it with.
Sumarie Eksteen

With a Bachelors in Marketing and Operations, and a background ranging in Construction, Property, Marketing and Charities, I am excited to step into this new role. I have a large passion for Women's wellbeing and creating a supportive community for us to thrive in. My heart is centred around promoting peoples lived experience in a healthy way and encouraging an environment of love and care.

Taylor Burgess
Hi,
I’m Taylor! I began my journey with Dear Community as a leader in early 2024, which has since evolved into an exciting opportunity to contribute as an intern from October 2024, allowing me to grow both personally and professionally.
I’m passionate about creativity, marketing and love supporting others in their work by offering resources, guidance, and encouragement to help them achieve their goals. Being part of DC allows me to channel this passion into empowering our community to connect, share, and thrive together. Outside of DC, I enjoy exploring new creative outlets, volunteering, and spending time outdoors with my partner and dog.
I’m excited to continue learning and supporting this amazing community!
