Are you passionate about event facilitation and connecting with people? We invite you to step into a leadership role!

Our community relies on the dedication of our amazing volunteers who bring our events to life.

One recurring request we receive is "Can we have more events?" and we agree!

To make this a reality, we need more individuals to step up as leaders

Dear Community organises two types of events: Save My Spot Events and Internally Managed Events.

Our volunteer leaders are responsible for organising and submitting Save My Spot Events, which are typically low-cost activities such as walks, coffee meet-ups, beach trips, or runs, with a fee of under $9.99 to RSVP.

Internally Managed Events are handled entirely by Dear Community. We provide volunteer leaders with an agenda and all necessary tools for facilitating these events. Leaders, however, are not required to organise. Leaders are able to put their name forward for an event they are interested and available for.

The leader’s role for both of these event types is to assist with queries beforehand, act as the point of contact, and attend the event.

Responsibilities

As a leader, your responsibilities would include:

  • Facilitating monthly Dear Community Events.
  • Managing RSVPs, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere, and promptly responding to messages.
  • Strong communication with co-leaders & Dear Community Team
  • Arrange bookings for SMS events
  • Attending monthly leadership calls with the Dear Community Team & Guest Speakers
