Dear Community is dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for females aged 18-35 to connect and build meaningful relationships. As a non-profit organisation based in New Zealand, our mission is to create a welcoming space where individuals can be themselves.

Dear Community operates through ticket purchases for event attendance. Your ticket sale helps towards funding the event and supporting the Dear Community charity.

Wondering where your ticket amount goes?

Firstly, paying for the event!

Dear Community also has many overheads, as with any charity. These include, but are not limited to lawyer fees, accounting, website, advertising, contractors and employee costs. Your ticket sale also go towards funding our initiatives such as 'Nominate A Mate."

When you purchase a ticket, you're not just attending an event—you're enabling Dear Community to extend its support, reach and channels of educative programs to women all around New Zealand.

In this blog post, we address our terms and conditions, highlighting our policies on refunds, our commitment to inclusivity, and the behavioural expectations we uphold.

      1. Refund Policy:

        We would like to address the topic of refunds for our RSVP fees and provide some insight into our policy. 

        As a community organisation, our primary goal is to create meaningful and engaging experiences. In order to ensure the success of these events, it is crucial for us to accurately estimate the number of participants in advance. Unfortunately, we are unable to process any refunds for change of mind, sickness or the inability to attend. Trust that your ticket will be going to support more women across New Zealand. If an event is cancelled due to Dear Communities doing and will not be postponed, all attendees will be refunded the full ticket price.

      3. Creating a Safe Environment: Dear Community places huge importance on creating a safe and inclusive environment. We expect all attendees to uphold a standard of kindness, respect, and care for one another. Bullying, abuse, or any form of harassment will not be tolerated. We are committed to fostering an atmosphere where individuals feel supported, valued, and free to be themselves
      1. Inclusivity and Attendance: Dear Community is committed to welcoming participants from diverse backgrounds. While we acknowledge that there is a range of identities, Dear Community is for women age 18 - 35.  We believe that providing a safe and supportive space for women, so we can facilitate open conversations and shared experiences that are particularly relevant to their lived experiences. It allows for the exploration of topics and issues that may be specific to these groups. We strive to create an environment where all individuals feel respected, valued, and empowered to be their authentic selves. By engaging in thoughtful conversations and understanding one another's perspectives, we can work together to foster a community that is both supportive and inclusive. By purchasing a ticket to Dear Community events and attending our events, you agree to the above terms of being a women age 18-35.

      2. Attendance Expectations: 
        In order to ensure the smooth running of our events and to show respect for everyone involved, we request that attendees provide a minimum of 24 hours’ notice if they are unable to attend a ticketed event. Failure to do so may result in restrictions on purchasing tickets for future events organised by Dear Community.
        This policy is in place to allow our leaders to offer the space to other community members in a timely manner. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

      3. Copyright. 

        Dear Community's branding, concepts, and initiatives are the intellectual property of our organisation and are protected under copyright and trademark laws. This includes, but is not limited to, our name, logo, event formats, marketing materials, website content, and unique community-driven initiatives. Unauthorised use, reproduction, distribution, or imitation of any of our branding, content, or ideas without explicit written permission is strictly prohibited. Any attempt to replicate, modify, or misrepresent Dear Community’s work for personal or commercial gain may result in legal action. We are committed to protecting the integrity of our organisation and ensuring that our mission, values, and resources remain exclusive to the community we serve. If you have any questions regarding the use of our materials or would like to seek permission, please contact us directly.

      4. Model Release: The Attendees grants the Leaders the right to use any content taken during the Event for promotional or commercial purposes, including but not limited to advertising and display on the Leaders website, social media, or portfolio.
      5. Health and Safety Disclaimer:
        Dear Community is committed to creating a safe and supportive environment at all our events. However, by attending our events, you acknowledge that participation is at your own risk. Dear Community, its organisers, volunteers, and affiliates are not liable for any personal injury, loss, or damage to property that may occur before, during, or after an event. Attendees are responsible for their own well-being and must exercise caution when participating in any activities. If an attendee has any medical conditions or specific requirements, they are encouraged to take necessary precautions and seek medical advice where needed. In accordance with New Zealand law, we comply with all applicable health and safety regulations; however, we cannot be held responsible for circumstances beyond our control. By purchasing a ticket and attending a Dear Community event, you agree to these terms and release Dear Community from any liability arising from your participation.
Behavioural Guidelines: In order to maintain a positive and inclusive environment, we have established behavioural guidelines for all attendees. These guidelines include:
  • Treating others with kindness, respect, and empathy.
  • Respecting personal boundaries and consent.
  • Listening actively and engaging in inclusive and constructive conversations.
  • Avoiding offensive or discriminatory language and behaviour.
  • Refraining from any form of bullying, abuse, or harassment.
  • Taking responsibility for one's own actions and their impact on others.

Dear Community is committed to providing a safe and supportive space for young women to connect and grow together.

Our no-refund policy ensures effective event planning and execution. We aim to foster an inclusive environment that values kindness, respect, and care for one another. Attendees are expected to show up, contribute positively, and adhere to our behavioural guidelines, which prohibit bullying, abuse, or any form of harassment.

We invite open dialogue about our policies and remain dedicated to evolving and adapting to meet the needs of our community while upholding our core values.
