Unplug. Connect, and Thrive: Our Weekend at Finlay Park Adventure Camp
At Dear Community, we're all about creating space for whine to breathe, connect, and just be. That's why our weekend retreats are such a big part of what we do-intentional time away from the noise to refocus, recharge, and have a little fun along the way.

A Space to Slow Down and Soak It All In
From April 4-6, we gathered at Finlay Park in Cambridge, nestled beside the Waikato River. It's a place where the noise of daily life fades, and you can hear yourself again.
The perfect spot to reset.
The weekend was designed with balance in mind equal parts adventure and stillness.
We offered a mix of activities so everyone could find their own rhythm.
For the adventurers: Kayaking, paddleboarding, the flying fox. paintball, and that iconic hydro slide.
For the self-love girl's: Guided journaling, paint by numbers, Pilates and glowworm boat tours.
There was space to explore, to be still, and most importantly-to just be you.
Doing Life Together
Retreats like this aren't just about the activities. They're about the people.
Throughout the weekend, we grouped attendees based on shared values and personalities so even if you arrived solo, you weren't alone for long. From prepping meals together to cheering each other on during activities, these little moments of teamwork created big moments of connection.
We laughed. We rested. We went deep. And we left with new friendships (and maybe a few sore muscles).
Why We Do These Weekend Trips
These weekends aren't just for fun-though there's plenty of that too. They're about intention.
In a world that constantly asks us to do more, we're choosing to slow down. To be present. To connect.
At Dear Community, we believe that real growth and healing happen in community.
That when women gather with purpose, something powerful unfolds. We're reminded we're not alone. We're reminded who we are.
Weekend retreats give us space to breathe again.
