This November, Dear Community is bringing women together for the ultimate Mamma Mia-inspired weekend getaway in Hahei, Coromandel. From 27–29 November 2026, just 22 women will come together for a weekend designed around one thing: creating genuine friendships while experiencing one of New Zealand’s most beautiful summer destinations.
And yes, there’s a yacht involved.

If you’ve been searching for a summer getaway in New Zealand, the Coromandel is hard to beat.
With its golden beaches, turquoise water, coastal scenery and relaxed holiday atmosphere, the Coromandel feels like the kind of place summer was made for. Hahei in particular is the perfect base for a weekend away when you want to slow down, get outside and spend a few days by the water.
But this trip isn't just about visiting somewhere beautiful.
It’s about who you experience it with.
Because sometimes the best part of a summer trip isn't the destination itself. It's sitting beside someone you've only just met, talking for hours, laughing over dinner and realising you've somehow made a new friend.
That's exactly what we're creating with this weekend.
A summer yacht trip around the Coromandel coastline
The highlight of the weekend?
A private Dear Community sailing experience with Boom Charters.
On Saturday afternoon, we'll head to Whitianga before stepping aboard an exclusive sailing yacht for a four-hour trip around the Coromandel coastline.
From 1pm–5pm, you'll have the chance to explore the coastline from the water, visit different islands and stop along the way for swimming and snorkelling.
It's essentially the New Zealand version of a Mamma Mia summer.

You can stay onboard, enjoy the grazing platter and take in the views while everyone else gets in the water.
There's no pressure to participate in everything. The whole weekend is designed around coming as you are.
The best part? You don't need to bring a group of friends.
This is probably one of the biggest questions we get about Dear Community trips:
“Can I come by myself?”
Absolutely.
In fact, you might be surprised by how many women come to our events and trips solo.
Our Hahei weekend has been intentionally designed for women who want to meet new people and make genuine friendships, rather than simply travelling with the same group they already know.
Before the weekend, everyone fills out a personalised Google Form. This helps us understand your interests, values and personality so we can pair you with women you'll hopefully click with when assigning shared accommodation.
You'll also be added into the group chat before the trip, giving you the chance to start chatting with other attendees before you even arrive.
So if the thought of driving into a holiday park alone and wondering “Who am I actually going to talk to?” is what's holding you back, we've thought about that too.
A weekend designed for making friends
One of the reasons we created this trip differently from a traditional weekend away is that friendships take time.
Going to a one-hour event can be a great way to meet someone, but sometimes you leave just as you're starting to get comfortable.
A whole weekend gives you something different.
You'll have breakfast together.
You'll take part in activities together.
You'll spend an afternoon sailing together.
You'll laugh over games and conversations.
You'll have the chance to actually get to know the women around you.
With only 22 women attending, the group is intentionally small, creating a more intimate environment where you aren't just another person in a crowd.
Throughout the weekend, we'll also have icebreakers, facilitated conversations, a quiz evening, creative activities, spot prizes and plenty of opportunities to connect.
You don't have to walk in with a best friend.
You just have to be willing to say hello.

What does the weekend look like?
Friday 27 November
Arrive at Hahei from 5pm and settle into your shared accommodation.
This is your chance to meet your roomies, get comfortable and start getting to know the women you'll be spending the weekend with.
We'll kick things off with activities designed to help everyone break the ice, because we know walking into a room full of strangers can feel intimidating.
By the end of the evening, hopefully those strangers won't feel quite so strange.
Saturday 28 November
Wake up in beautiful Hahei and enjoy breakfast together before getting ready for the main event.
Then we're off to Whitianga for our exclusive four-hour sailing yacht trip.
