Tyler Picketts
Hey, I’m Tyler! I’m 22 and I work to take care of our local water and wastewater plants—basically making sure our drinking water is safe and our wastewater doesn’t harm the environment. It’s a pretty solo job, so I’m always keen for a good chat and love trying new things.
I’ve been living in the beautiful Mount Maunganui for nearly two years, after spreading my wings and moving from a small town called Te Aroha. I’m all about staying active—I recently joined a social football team and the volunteer Fire Brigade, but I’ve always been into team sports and anything that gets me moving. I’m a big summer person, I love warm weather, bush walks, good music and concerts, and I’ve got a soft spot for animals.
I’m really looking forward to meeting new people and helping others make connections through Dear Community

Victoria Pye
Kia ora, I’m Victoria but you can call me Vic! I’m 25 and recently moved from Wellington to Tauranga, trading out my doc martens for a pair of sandals. I am currently studying for a Bachelor of Teaching (Primary), education is something I’m deeply passionate about and I love finding ways to make learning engaging and meaningful for tamariki. Outside of my studies, dance is a huge part of my life. I have been a dance teacher for 10+ years and danced all over America, Japan, Germany, and of course, New Zealand. I make it a priority to support the arts at least 4-5 times a year, whether that’s watching a local production or heading home to Wellington for a show at the Saint James Theatre. Hamilton is my all time favourite musical, along with many, many others! When I’m not in the classroom or dance studio, you can find me at Mitre 10 with a coffee in hand and my two little griffon dogs, Reko & Poppy. I am excited to be stepping into a leadership role with Dear Community, and I can’t wait to contribute to a space where woman can make long lasting connections.
