At Dear Community, we know booking a trip without knowing anyone can feel like a big step. That’s why we create travel experiences specifically for New Zealand women who want to see the world, meet new people and make memories along the way.

Our trips bring together Kiwi girls from across the country, so you can book solo while still having a community around you from the moment you book.

And because we know that different destinations call for different kinds of adventures, we partner with experienced travel companies including TruTravels, MedSailors and Contiki to bring these experiences to life.

What is Dear Community?

Dear Community is a community for women across New Zealand who want to meet new people, try new things and experience life together.

Alongside our events and community experiences, we run group trips designed to bring Kiwi women together to explore incredible destinations.

Whether you're travelling for the first time or you're already a seasoned traveller, our trips give you the opportunity to explore somewhere new without needing to find a travel buddy first.

Are Dear Community trips run by Dear Community?

Our trips are created and promoted by Dear Community, but the travel arrangements and tour operations are provided by our trusted travel partners.

Depending on the trip, we partner with companies such as TruTravels, MedSailors and Contiki, who provide the tour operations, accommodation, activities, transport and local expertise included in each itinerary.

A Dear Community representative will also be there alongside you on selected trips, helping bring the group together, creating those community moments and making sure you have a familiar face from home throughout the adventure.

This means you get the community and connection of travelling with Dear Community, alongside the experience and local expertise of an established travel operator.

Who are the trips for?

Our trips are designed for women in New Zealand who want to travel, meet new people and experience somewhere new together.

You don't need to already have a group of friends to come with you.

In fact, many of our travellers book completely solo.

You could be from Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Tauranga, Dunedin or anywhere in between. The whole point is that you’ll meet other Kiwi women who are just as excited to explore.

Can I come on my own?

Absolutely!

You don't need to find a friend who has the same travel dates, budget and annual leave as you.

You can simply book your place and come along on your own.

You'll be travelling alongside other women who are also there to meet people, so you're definitely not the only one arriving solo.

What if I’m nervous about travelling alone?

Honestly? That’s completely normal.

For many women, booking the trip is the scariest part.

Before your trip, you'll be connected with the other girls travelling with you. This gives you a chance to introduce yourself, chat about flights, ask questions, organise meet-ups and get to know everyone before you even leave New Zealand.

And on selected trips, you'll also have a Dear Community representative travelling with the group, so you'll have a familiar face from home there with you throughout the adventure.

So when you arrive, you won't be walking into a completely unknown group. 

Will I actually make friends?

We certainly hope so! 🥹

One of the biggest parts of a Dear Community trip is the people you experience it with.

You're exploring somewhere new together, sharing meals, doing activities, getting on the same flights and inevitably having those random travel moments that become your favourite memories.

You might arrive not knowing anyone and leave with a group chat full of girls you’re already planning your next trip with.

Our destinations change throughout the year, but we've hosted and partnered on adventures across destinations including:

What travel companies do you partner with?

We work with established travel operators to create different types of group travel experiences.

Some of our travel partners include:

TruTravels — group adventures across destinations including Asia, Europe and beyond.

MedSailors — yacht-based sailing adventures, including our Croatia trips.

Contiki — organised group travel across destinations around the world, including Europe.

The specific travel partner will always be listed on the individual trip page, along with what's included in your trip.

Will there be a Dear Community representative on my trip?

On selected trips, yes! A Dear Community representative will travel alongside the group.

They'll be there to help bring everyone together, create those community moments and make sure you have a familiar face from home throughout your adventure.

They might be organising a group dinner, helping everyone get to know each other, taking photos, joining activities or simply being there to share the experience.

Your travel partner will still manage the official tour operations, local guides, accommodation, transport and itinerary, while your Dear Community representative helps create the community experience you've come to know and love.
