Finlay Park

Back by popular demand Dear Community is beyond excited to deliver another incredible Summer Adventure Camp at the stunning Finlay Park in Cambridge. We are currently in the process of planning our camp for March 20th - 22nd for 2026, and wanted to give you the opportunity to share your interest in participating.

Activities that we had this year that you may be able to expect next year

-Kayaking

-Glow Worm Boat Tour

-Paddle Boarding

-Guided Journal Sessions

-Pilates Sessions

-Paintball

-Animal Survival

-Painting

-Hydro Slide

-Water Sports and so much more...

One of the best parts was the glowworm tour on Saturday night. If you were to book this yourself, it would usually cost up to $180 — crazy, right? But it was included in our camp! We took a boat ride through the gorge and saw the glowworms — it was peaceful and unforgettable, and the best part? You’re saving money since the tour is already covered!

We found that Camps like this are the perfect way to form lasting friendships. Here’s what some of the girls said:

“I wish we could stay longer!”

“The most amazing weekend!”

 “So relaxing and welcoming!”

With the estimated cost for the camp being $450, and with 50 weeks left, that’s only $9 per week. If you’re interested, fill out the expression of interest form, and get ready for a weekend full of fun and connection!

Make sure to send this to your friends — you’ll get first choice in joining us!

Day One

Friday

Friday marked the start of our time at Finlay Park! The girls began to arrive and set up their cabins and enjoying great conversations with their new roommates. We greeted everyone with fun goodie bags and then gathered them for dinner. Chicken, Mushroom Pie with Salad and Kumera fries!

After dinner, we kicked off the classic "People Bingo" game – a tradition at Dear Community that encourages everyone to step out of their comfort zones and meet new faces. It was a great way to get to know one another! We also gave out spot prizes during People Bingo to keep the energy high and add some extra fun to the game.

Next, we got everyone into new groups, this time based on the girls in their cabins. These groups teamed up to take part in our traditional Dear Community quiz. The competitive spirit was high, and everyone had a blast! We also had some spot prizes for the quiz winners, making it even more exciting!

To wrap up the evening, we shared the plan for the next day and gave the girls some time to settle into their cabins for a well-deserved early night.

Day two

Saturday

Saturday was day two of camp, packed with exciting activities from start to finish! We began the morning with breakfast and coffee, then announced the groups and activities: kayaking, paint-by-numbers, journaling, and Pilates.

Each group enjoyed their activity for an hour and a half, with a lunch break in between.

The kayaking was amazing, as we paddled through the beautiful Waikato River gorge, creating a peaceful and memorable experience. The paint-by-numbers activity featured lovely canvases with flowers, birds, and cocktails, and Pilates, led by Louisa Nelson, included a relaxing meditation and journaling session.

After the activities, we had free time with the pool, spa, blob, slides, and more fun options. In the afternoon, we gathered the girls by group colors – red, blue, and yellow – for friendly competition. Each team created a chant, then played volleyball, basketball, netball, or football, with plenty of cheering from the sidelines.

After the group challenges, the winning team received prizes and headed off on the first glowworm boat tour. The peaceful, magical boat ride through the gorge was a highlight for everyone. We ended the day with popcorn and treats while watching The Proposal, the perfect way to relax after an action-packed day.

DAY THREE

Sunday

Sunday morning marked our final day at Finlay Park, and it was filled with exciting activities! We kicked off the day with an early Pilates class, followed by a delicious breakfast. During breakfast, we gave out more spot prizes and enjoyed one last meal together with the girls.

After breakfast, the girls split into groups for their final activities: paddle boarding, paintball, and animal survival. They had an amazing time, fully immersing themselves in the experiences.

Following the activities, we had one last free time session, where the girls could enjoy more paddle boarding, the pool, spa, blob, side-by-side slide, confidence course, and hydro slide.

After some fun and relaxation, the girls packed up their cabins, and we gathered for our final lunch together. We took time to thank everyone for coming, exchanged Instagram handles, and sent the girls off with new friendships and great memories as they headed home.

Don't Miss Out!
