Palmerston North welcomes you to Dear Community!

Ashlea Fergusson
Kia ora, I'm Ashlea! I am a Dear Community Leader for Te Papaioea (Palmerston North) area. Originally from Auckland, I moved to Manawatū with my partner over 4 years ago. I absolutely love it here - the people are so friendly, there are hikes galore, and there are heaps to do if you know where to look. Through my mahi, I specialise in social media and content creation and love to make the most of any spare time I can get my hands on by hanging out with friends, new and old. I love reading, gardening, travelling, arts and crafts, eating - I am a big foodie, walks, picnics, and more.I understand it can be hard to make new friends, especially if you're no longer in school or uni, so my mission is to support you and help foster connections through our events.Feel free to reach out for a chat; I can't wait to see you at our upcoming DC events!

Lydia Price
Hey! I’m Lydia, a 23 year old Software Developer based in Palmerston North, and living in the heart of rural Rangitikei. I was lucky enough to be born andraised in this quiet, beautiful corner of New Zealand, and it’s shaped so muchof who I am.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me hiking up a hill, exploring a new trail, or planning my next adventure. We’re incredibly fortunate to have such stunning hikes right on our doorstep, and I’d love to share some of my favourites with you all! When I’m not outdoors, I enjoy relaxing with a good book or getting stuck into a crochet project.
I’m also a big fan of travel. It’s something that always excites me, pushing me out of my comfort zone and allowing me to experience new places and cultures. Through travel, I’ve had the chance to meet people from all walks of life, which has reminded me how important connection really is.
Making friends as an adult can be tough, which is why I’m so grateful for what Dear Community is doing to make that journey feel less lonely, and a whole lot more fun! I’m really excited to be part of it: building connections, sharing adventures, and helping others feel like they truly belong x
