Being a woman is awesome, but we often go through feminine issues with very little support or knowledge on what's happening. With Dr Google and social media offering a wide spread of misinformation, it can be really hard to know where to look or who to listen too. Dear Community is delighted to be partnering with Bargain Chemist to deliver you an evening all about Women’s Health as we dive into the important topics such as periods, PCOS, endometriosis, fertility and the various menstruation cycles. If the topic is related to your vagina or female health, we want to discuss it, and with our incredible panelist, we have no doubt no stone won’t be unturned.

Here at DC, we love partnering with brands focused on helping our communities, and Bargain Chemist is a brand whose mission; “Saving New Zealanders Everyday”, is more than just a slogan. It represents their ongoing commitment to making healthcare and wellbeing more accessible, relatable, and deeply rooted in community care. Beginning their journey in Christchurch in March 2018, their two founders, Atif Malkonyan and Peter Shenoda set out to demonstrate that pharmacies could be both affordable and professional. Starting with their first outlet store, Bargain Chemist has since grown into a successful national brand with over 27 stores across New Zealand, consistently upholding their policy of looking out for their fellow Kiwis. It is with the support of Bargain Chemist, we have created an event, for the women in our community to feel more empowered and educated on the female health issues they are facing.

Our first panelist is Dr Amelia Ryan, a Fertility Specialist & Gynaecologist. As a highly sought after Women’s Health specialist, co-owner of Advanced Gynaecology Auckland, and a loving mum-of-three, Amelia brings a whole new meaning to the word busy. Following years of study, training and delivering babies, Amelia now channels her skills towards alleviating the pain and suffering caused by endometriosis – a condition that affects so many.

Joining her is founder of Oh Goodness, Hannah Eriksen. Hannah is obsessed with helping women feel at home in their bodies through the right kind of nutrition. With carefully created no-fuss, zero-diet ways of eating plans that can regulate cycles, ease pain and bloating, and boost energy across the month. There’s a mountain of advice out there, but most of it overwhelms. Hannah’s all about clarity: helping women eat and live in sync with their bodies, to feel strong and confident.

This event is an incredible opportunity for you to ask any questions you may not have had the opportunity to ask in the past. Before the event takes place, you will receive a form to submit your questions anonymously, so there is no reason to be shy. Our MC will then ask the panel the most frequently asked questions on the night. With incredible goodie bags thanks to Bargain Chemist, a grazing table and mocktail, this night is all about celebrating womanhood and coming together to learn more about female health.
