Get ready for an epic morning of surfing. There is no better way to start your weekend, or year, then with our Wāhine  Waves Surf Event. Taking place at the beautiful Mount Maunganui beach, this event will see you participate in a guided surf lesson, led by the incredible Hibiscus Surf School, who will teach you all their best tips and tricks to crushing those waves. You will leave the event with technical understanding on how to stand up on a board, so you can enjoy the surf all year round. With each attendee getting a complimentary Shnack Protein Drink and Coola Sunscreen, this is not an event to miss.

Here at Dear Community, we are stoked to be partnering with Hibiscus a local, multi-award winning surf school, offering private and group surf lessons at Mount Maunganui Main Beach. For over 15 years they’ve taught all ages and abilities the joy of surfing, from our smallest groms as young as 5yrs, all the way up to grandma’s of 74yrs. They value community, inclusivity and having a laugh! Their great team of experienced instructors will get you comfortable and feeling confident in the water, and teach you how to catch your own waves. Wetsuits and boards are included in all our lessons. They love to share the stoke, and can guarantee you’ll finish your surf lesson with a big smile!

With only 30 women in attendance, spots are limited, so get in quick.

Ticket Policy

Please note that you will receive an email from the event leader 24–48 hours beforehand with additional information. If you have not received this email at least 12 hours before the event, please contact us.

All events are exclusively for women aged 18-35.

Tickets are non-refundable.

Please note, we will be taking photos and videos throughout the event.

If you can’t attend, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice so we can offer your spot to someone else. Failure to do so may result in restrictions on future ticket purchases.
